Maple Grove Memorial Handbell Choir
The Maple Grove Memorial Handbell Choir was formed almost 20 years ago, under the direction of Jan Beddoe. We are a 14 member group three octave bell choir. We practice weekly on Monday evenings and play monthly in church on Communion Sundays. We also play at special Maple Grove musical events, such as Maple Grove Rocks and “An Evening with Friends”. We are invited throughout the year to perform at other churches, at retirement homes and at special events. The Belles have become a very good group of friends over the years – a marvelous sisterhood – and we love to make music together.
Joyful Noise Teen Choir
The Joyful Noise Teen Choir enjoys the participation of our teenagers from Grade 8 through high school. The Joyful Noise sing during special services such as Christmas Eve and Easter as well as the occasional Sunday morning.
The Joyful Noise also sing in our special concerts such as the Festival of Song. Last year they performed as the ‘Spice Girls’ during our spring concert, Maple Grove Rocks.
They are a wonderful group who sing music appropriate to their age and preferences. Often they get together socially, which helps them to really enjoy their choir experience as they are singing with friends and there is always room for more!
Cherub and Koinonia Children’s Choirs
Maple Grove has two children's choirs, the Cherub Choir from age 4 - Grade One and the Koinonia Choir from Grade 2 - Grade 7.
Cherub Choir meets from 6:30 - 7:00 p.m. every Thursday evening and Koinonia meets from 7:00 - 8:00 p.m. every Thursday evening.
The choirs sing approximately 16 times a year, performing fun, upbeat and prayerful, reflective repertoire to enhance morning worship. The Koinonia Choir presents a play every May, either a bible story, "Gideon" this year, or a moral story with costumes, sets, dialogue and chorus and solo numbers.
A choir experience is a valuable one for the children, teaching not only singing skills but self-confidence in presenting themselves in front of a group, focus and concentration, memory skills, time management, co-operation and creativity.
We welcome new members any time of the year and include anyone who wishes to sing with us.

Tell us your favourite hymns!
The Hymnsters are always looking to please our congregation with their favourite hymns. To that end if you wish to help them out, please email your choice to mguc@cogeco.net and it will be forwarded to our Hymnsters with the view of incorporating your choice in one of the upcoming services. Please keep in mind that music choices take into account the calendar season of church activity.(ie Easter, Advent, Epiphany etc.)
