Official Groundbreaking - Phase I
Pentecost Sunday saw the ceremonial start to construction immediately following the May 31st Service. The mayor, Rob Burton, one of our councillors, Mary Chapin, and a Trillium Foundation representative participated. Our Mayor spoke warmly about the role of Maple Grove in the community. |
Presbytery Supports Renovation Project
Presbytery gave final approval to our project at their June 9th meeting at Maple Grove. |
Ian Stanners Turns the Church Grounds Orange
Ian Stanners and his twelve followers put up orange barriers around the property as a key step in getting our building permit. By doing it with our own sweat equity, we saved three to four thousand dollars.
A soil test and a $27,000 indemnity bond appear to be all that remains before we get our building permit. |
Building Committee Close to Final Contract
After much hard work, the Building Committee appears close to a final project definition and contractor decision.
Maple Grove has entered into a letter of intent with one of our bidders and the Committee is optimistic that all matters necessary for a final contract can be resolved shortly.
We are now projecting a construction start date in the first half of July. |
Spending on Phase I through May 2009
Brian Simpson reports that we have spent $158,511 on Phase I through May 2009. |

Funding Appeal
Our target for Phase I, reduced for spending, is now $1,241,489. We had indicated three interim goals before full funding and this month we passed our second. Let's keep up the good work. | |
